Per il designer la scelta di un materiale per fare un oggetto ha un motivo funzionale ma anche estetico e poetico.

Il materiale definisce e conferisce alla cosa disegnata i caratteri intimi nel divenire manufatto: sia essa opera artistica, oggetto di design o di artigianato.

La mostra DUETTO pone il tema legato al rapporto di coppia che si genera quando in un solo oggetto giocano due materiali e perciò due diversi linguaggi progettuali.

E’ interessante investigare questo rapporto di connivenza e di energia tra due “status” differenti, difficile anche dal punto di vista delle strutture chimico-fisiche.

L’ armonico o problematico accostamento tra i due si pone in questa mostra come un elemento di indagine. La magia che si genera in questo sistema a due supera i vincoli tecnici dell’uno e dell’altro, e porta lo sguardo oltre i confini di un giudizio estetico di carattere tradizionale.

L’oggetto allora, richiede una forzatura critica per essere compreso nella sua strana ed emozionante energia.

For a designer, the decision to use a certain material for a certain object is not only based on functionality, but also aesthetics and poetry.

Material is what defines the object, granting it its intimate qualities as an artefact, regardless of it being art, design or craftsmanship.

The “Duetto” exhibition explores the mutual relationship that is generated by coupling two materials, each requiring a different design language, in one object.

“Duetto” shows the complicity and energy that can form between two distinct conditions, a concinnity that is usually a challenge to resolve on a chemical and physical level.

Both harmonious and problematic juxtapositions are investigated.

The magic that emanates from the arrangement of these paired materials surpasses the technical limits of each, leading the eye beyond aesthetic judgment of the traditional type.

Here, the object requires an effort of comprehension in order for us to appreciate its strange and moving vitality.
